Prof. Elie Virgile Chrysostome

Dr. Elie Chrysostome is full professor of international business and strategic management at the State University of New York, Campus of Plattsburgh and director of CEDIMES Institute USA (Centre for Research in Business, Economics, International Development and Social Movements). He was the chair of the division of International Business of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC). He’s also the chair of the CEDIMES International Conference.

Dr. Elie Chrysostome is a research associate at the Walter Somers Chair in International Strategic Management of HEC-Montreal (Canada) and at the Montreal Local Global Research Group at the John Molson School of Business of Concordia University at Montreal (Canada). He taught at Laval University and at University of Moncton in Canada and was invited speaker or visiting scholar at several leading business schools including Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona, USA), Haute Ecole de Gestion de Fribourg (Fribourg, Switzerland), HEC-Montreal (Canada), Laval University (Quebec, Canada), Universite Paris-Dauphine, Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland).

His research works have focused on issues related to International Joint-Ventures and Strategic Alliances, internationalization of small businesses and international entrepreneurship with a particular interest for diaspora and immigrant entrepreneurship, capacity building in developing countries. He supervised, co-supervised or served as external examiner of many graduate students dissertations including Ph.D. students. He’s author and co-author of many publications in respected academic journals of international business and management including Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, International Journal of Economic Policy in Emerging Countries. His most recent book Building Businesses in Emerging and Developing Countries: Challenges and Opportunities was co-edited with Dr Rick Molz of John Molson School of Business of Concordia University (Canada). He has served on the editorial board of several well-known international journals of international business and management and is a member of Academy of International Business and Academy of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Administration Sciences with specialization in International Strategic Management from Laval University.
